Shimer has had a long tradition and a positive relationship with home-schooled students  We actively encourage applications from home-schooled students and, over the years, home-schoolers have said that their Shimer experience has been wonderful. Shimer’s unique

form of education makes for an easy transition from home schooling to college life that cannot be found at most traditional colleges. Many of Shimer’s students have abandoned conventional education as unfulfilling yet find themselves quite at home here.
